Gain Level 2 Hairdressing one day a week for one year - This will suit anybody with a keen interest in Hairdressing. In this course you will learn basic skills in most aspects of Hairdressing and working in a salon. We recommend you gain work experience alongside to enhance learning and confidence. Payment plans are available.
HAIRDRESSING NVQ LEVEL 3
This includes basic kit
1 day a week
To complete Hairdressing Level 3, a level 2 Hairdressing certificate is required. Salon experience is advisable to have the competence to complete creative cutting and colouring assessments. Level 3 Hairdressing is to enhance your hairdressing practical skills and add to existing theory knowledge. This qualification is about making your skills more creative with hair up and colour correction included.

To deliver Hairdressing Apprenticeships we work alongside local salons to train future stylists. Training will cover practical and theory assessments within our realistic working environment here at the academy, one day a week.
We believe that to become an excellent stylist you need to have the ability to present yourself and communicate with people and become confident in a wide range of techniques in styling, cutting and colouring. We will fully support you in achieving this through training at the academy.
We now deliver the new Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals; this new apprenticeship qualification is Level 2 with Level 3 skills included to make sure apprentices are salon floor ready once qualified. The new standards are referred to as Hair Professional.
The new qualification has been developed by employers and set at a high level with an end assessment at the end of the course. This is carried out by an independent assessor under trade test conditions. This is graded as either a pass or distinction depending on performance.
The newly developed standards for apprenticeships which now takes two years to complete, will still require a minimum of 30 hours a week employment in a salon. Inclusive of the 30 hours is a training day at our academy.
Functional skills, Maths and English are delivered within the course.
